Verónica Macias

Verónica brings her reporting experience on Hispanic issues and journalism background to the Latino Leaders Network as an Office Assistant where she applies her skills in a variety of capacities.

Her journalistic interest and passion for politics first brought her out to Washington, D.C. in 2006 for a fellowship through Scripps Howard at Hispanic Link News-Service, where she covered Latino members of Congress, advocacy groups and all news pertinent to the U.S. Hispanic community.

Presently, Verónica freelances and has contributed articles to The Washington Post's District Extra and the KidsPost section.

Verónica graduated with a B.A in Political Science and a minor in Humanities Law from the University of California, Irvine. She is of Mexican descent and is a California native.
