WALKOUT Premiere, HBO Films

Mickey Ibarra & Associates assisted HBO Films with the Washington, DC premiere of the film WALKOUT, directed by Edward James Olmos and produced by Moctesuma Esparza. This HBO Films drama tells the true but little-known story of a group of Chicano students who staged a compelling 1968 walkout to protest injustices of the public high school system in East Los Angeles.

HBO Films retained Mickey Ibarra & Associates to secure the honored guests for the evening, Senators Ken Salazar and Robert Menendez and United States Treasurer, Anna Cabral, in addition to an audience of 300 Latino leaders, officials, and others from the non-profit and private sectors. This is a film that helps shed light on an important moment in Latino civil rights history. We were honored to help HBO Films tell this important story.
